With its one friend the evening star, it’s a pretty sight,
And the moon has a beard and it floats on the top of the sea,
I just wish that I had you here to see it with me,

On the highway the lights of the cars punch holes in the night,
And the moon’s sitting high in the sky, like a heavenly kite,
And the songs on the radio keep me company,
Still I wish that I had you here to sing them with me,

As the dark of the night makes way for the light of the morning,
